The Opportunity
We are looking for a Trade Assistant to join our growing team in Queensland. You will play a crucial role in assisting our tradespeople and inspectors with a variety of tasks across engineering and manufacturing projects. From rigging and grinding to machinery operation and site maintenance, your contributions will help ensure our work is carried out safely and efficiently.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is self-motivated, and is eager to develop their skills in a professional and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople with general tasks such as rigging, grinding, and spotting
  • Operate forklifts and machinery, including power tools like grinding tools
  • Clean and maintain work sites, tools, and equipment
  • Perform assigned duties independently, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines
  • Report HSE issues and actively contribute to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Health & Safety
  • Actively contribute to a safe working environment
  • Lead by example in following HSE requirements
  • Maintain PPE standards and report any safety concerns
  • Participate in required safety training and investigations

Skills and Competencies
  • Experience with grinding and surface preparation
  • Basic understanding of welding processes and various materials (S/S, alloyed steels, aluminium)
  • Warehouse and inventory control experience
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual

Qualifications & Experience
  • White Card
  • Working at Heights certification
  • Scissor Lift Licence
  • High-Risk Licences (EWP, Forklift, Dogging) – desirable
  • Confined Space certification
