We are currently seeking enthusiastic and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Wait Staff at the Red Lion Hotel part of the Laundy Hotel Group. As a member of our front-of-house team, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding service to our guests, ensuring they have a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and provide menus. Assist with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
  • Listen attentively to guests' orders, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations based on their preferences. Ensure accuracy when recording orders and transmit them promptly to the kitchen.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests' tables in a timely manner, using proper serving techniques and following established service standards. Monitor tables to anticipate needs and provide refills or additional items as required.
  • Keep dining areas clean and organised throughout service, including clearing tables, wiping surfaces, and resetting table settings. Assist with basic cleaning tasks as needed to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and return change promptly. Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns. Actively engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any issues or complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to coordinate service and ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Follow proper food handling and safety protocols to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
     

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing demeanour.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Basic maths skills for processing payments and handling cash transactions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
