About the Role

Maxi Care Plus is looking for an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation. This role requires patience, empathy, and a strong dedication to upholding the dignity and rights of individuals with disabilities.

Task & responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care, hygiene, and dressing
• Helping clients with movement and mobility needs
• Offering companionship, emotional support, and friendship
• Organizing and coordinating social activities
• Preparing meals for clients
• Supporting disabled individuals with day-to-day routines
• Handling shopping and other errands when required
• Carrying out household duties such as cleaning and vacuuming
• Potentially residing with the client to provide care
• Respect & develop professional relationships with customers, Maxicare employees and other related services/ people, using appropriate terminology and creating a safe & comfortable environment.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Carer.
• Certificate III or IV in Individual support or in relevant courses.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• NDIS Worker Check (NDIS WC)
• Covid-19 vaccination certificate (plus booster required)
• Drivers License
• NDIS Supporting Effective Communication and Worker Orientation Modules (Free -Online)
• Good communication skills
