Management Accountant

We seek an experienced Management Accountant to provide performance-based financial reporting, asset valuation, budgetary systems, cost management, pricing, forecasting, and strategic financial insights to support business operations and decision-making.

The successful applicant will support financial planning and risk management, and provide management with reports to assist in decision-making across the organisation’s retail and property-related operations.

In addition, the role will involve providing insights into cost performance and supporting the implementation of benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives.

Task & responsibilities

• Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies and developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts across multiple business units
• Preparing financial statements and management reports, including variance analysis and performance insights for presentation to management and stakeholders
• Conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, and providing financial analysis to support business decision-making
• Examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure, including analysing cost of goods sold, margins, and pricing strategies
• Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
• Providing financial advice on business structures, plans and operations
• Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements
• Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
• Maintaining internal control systems and improving financial processes
• Monitoring inventory valuation and supporting accurate financial reporting
• Supporting cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and appraising financial risk of capital investment projects

Qualification & experience

The successful applicant must have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification.
